To mark the start of the academic year, our school came together for a whole-school focus on the inspiring picture book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. Children across all year groups explored the story through thoughtful discussion and creative artwork, reflecting on the importance of having a growth mindset and showing resilience when learning feels challenging. Children were encouraged to take risks, believe in themselves, and understand that everyone’s learning journey begins with a single step. Our focus culminated in a joyful celebration of International Dot Day, with everyone coming to school wearing something dotty. The event created a real buzz around the school and was brought together by a fabulous display in our entrance.
