Art and Craft Club
During the Autumn term 2025, our Year 4 Art and Craft Club members got creative with a festive project! They designed and made the stunning Christmas tree decorations for our Pirehill tree in the school hall. Over several weeks, the children explored an exciting range of techniques: crafting delicate snowflakes from greaseproof paper, drawing intricate snowflake patterns onto baubles with white wax crayons, adding vibrant watercolour washes, and sprinkling rock salt to create that magical icy sparkle effect. The results were absolutely brilliant! Each unique decoration added a special handmade touch to our Christmas celebrations and showcased the amazing talent, patience and creativity of our budding artists.
This Spring term, our Art and Craft Club children in Year 4 have been busy crafting colourful jewellery, including loom band bracelets, necklaces, and rings! It's fiddly work that requires patience and precision, but our pupils have risen to the challenge brilliantly! Some are learning the technique for the first time, whilst others have become expert loom band makers, sharing their skills with friends and even teaching staff! Children decide whether to keep their handmade treasures or gift them to loved ones, adding a thoughtful, personal touch to their creations. With challenges like making the world's longest loom band, Art and Craft Club is a fantastic space for developing fine motor skills, creativity, perseverance, and teamwork - all while having lots of fun!
