Welcome

Number Day 2026

Number Day is a fun and purposeful celebration of maths across the school, giving children the opportunity to explore numbers in creative, practical, and engaging ways.

In Reception, children will be exploring different representations of numbers to 10. Through hands-on activities, they will develop their understanding of what numbers look like in different forms, helping to build strong early number foundations.

In Key Stage 1, pupils will be using strategies learned during their Number Sense sessions to crack the code. These challenges will encourage children to think carefully, apply their knowledge, and explain their mathematical thinking.

In Key Stage 2, children will be putting their times tables knowledge to the test by solving a range of tricky riddles. These activities will require logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and fluent recall of multiplication facts.

Number Day is important because it helps children see maths as more than just written calculations. It promotes reasoning, problem-solving, and confidence, while showing that numbers are all around us and can be fun to explore. By celebrating Number Day, we support children in developing positive attitudes towards maths and the skills they need for everyday life.
