As part of Earth Day this year the children took part in a fabulous workshop. Reception and Year 1 focused on being climate heroes and transformed into their superhero alter-ego. We explored climate change, deforestation, pollution and looking after the planet.
Year 2 had a wonderful Earth Day filled with exciting learning experiences. They explored the vital role bumblebees play in our planet’s ecosystem and worked together to create a large collaborative piece of bumblebee artwork. During their Earth Day workshop, the children transformed into superheroes, discovering ways to care for and protect the environment for the future. They then created their own information books to share what they had learned and to inspire others to make a positive difference.
Year 3 had a wonderful Earth Day. Through exciting drama activities they learnt about a range of renewable energies as well as some surprising, and thought provoking facts. In the classroom they considered the two different future worlds that we could have and that there is only one Plan A! They designed some very creative posters to show this.
Year 4 enjoyed a fantastic Earth Day workshop exploring renewable energy and the environment. Through creative role play, the children learned about different types of power and how to look after our planet. We thought about ways that we can look after our planet, such as through recycling, reusing energy and walking more. We then had fun designing Earth Day posters to show our promises of how we are going to try to look after the world we live in.
