Welcome

Christmas

Reception and Year 1 Nativity Performance

Our Reception and Year 1 pupils recently brought the Christmas story to life in a wonderful Nativity performance. They loved stepping into the roles of Mary, Joseph, shepherds, and angels. Children were able to retell the Nativity Story and explore the birth of Jesus.  Children learnt what is special about Christmas and how religious traditions shape our celebrations.

Reception Nativity on Wheels

Nativity Farm on Wheels

Reception and Year 1 enjoyed a visit from the Farm on Wheels, where we got to dress up as characters from the Christmas story and meet some of the animals that were included in the story. We learnt about how important the Christmas story is and the children shared their knowledge of this too.

Stone Advent Window

We thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Stone's Advent Alphabet Trail in December 2025. This year's theme was 'Advent Alphabet' and we were given the letter 'D' for 'Diligently'. Every class at Pirehill contributed to our window display, so all of our children were represented in this special whole-school project!

Members of our talented school choir unveiled the window at John Burton Solicitors on Thursday 4th December at 11am, singing 'As with Gladness Men of Old' alongside festive favourites. Parents and carers joined us for the unveiling and enjoyed delicious mince pies, freshly baked by our wonderful school kitchen team!

This was a wonderful activity to encourage the children to engage and reflect further upon the Nativity story.
