Music at Pirehill First School
At Pirehill First School, music is a vibrant and important part of our curriculum, helping to inspire creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. All children enjoy regular music lessons using the Charanga scheme – a fun, engaging, and progressive programme that supports pupils in developing key musical skills such as listening, performing, improvising, and composing.
We are also proud to work in close partnership with Entrust Music Service, who provide specialist teaching and a range of exciting musical opportunities. This includes instrumental lessons, enrichment workshops, and opportunities to perform, helping to broaden children’s experiences and nurture their musical talents.
Through music, we aim to develop every child’s imagination and self-expression, while building important skills such as teamwork, perseverance, and self-esteem. Whether it’s singing together in class or performing in front of an audience, music is a joyful and enriching part of life at Pirehill First School.
Pirehill also offers a range of weekly music clubs, free of charge, run by in house music specialists including KS1 and KS2 Choir, Ukulele and recorder.
