Pirehill First School serves mainly the Walton area of Stone. However, many pupils living outside this area commute to Pirehill as their preferred school choice. Providing there is sufficient room available in each year group, this will continue to be our remit.
All new entrants will be invited to spend time in school with their teacher. A meeting is also held just for parents, during which information about the school is given and questions answered. Any relevant school letters which might give new parents added information and a flavour of school life will also be sent to new parents during the summer term.
If your child’s fifth birthday is between 1st September 2025 and 31st August 2026 then you will need to apply for a Reception place at a first, infant or primary school for September 2025.
If your child is in Year 4 at a first school in September 2024 you will need to apply for a place at middle school.
The information below informs you as to when your child is eligible to join the reception classes and when they will move on to middle school.
