At Pirehill, our geography curriculum aims to inspire the children to explore the world around them - beginning with their own community and extending to the wider world. Our carefully planned curriculum is personalised to reflect our children's interests and local area, helping them to make meaningful connections between what they learn and where they live.
Geography is taught during the Summer Term, allowing pupils to make the most of the warmer weather and take their learning outdoors through fieldwork, exploration and enquiry. Each Year Group is guided by a geographical key question that encourages the children to think critically, develop their knowledge and to apply their understanding to real-world contexts as they become confident, curious geographers.
